I am a very competitive diver (and swimmer) who knows how to have fun and encourage others on the pool deck. As a sophomore I am Captain of my high school dive team. I was offered an assistant coach position on my summer club team and help others engage with diving. I work hard and and am motivated to perform my best for my team, my coaches and for myself. I apply this drive to the classroom as well. I particularly enjoy math and science and believe a degree in neuroscience will help me pursue my passion of helping others feel better.
While I believe my drive is inherent, I was faced with a health issue at a young age. I was diagnosed wth thyroid cancer and underwent several procedures and treatments at age 10. It was a very scary time but I know this has helped me see that I can achieve and overcome any obstacle in my way.
