After 13 enjoyable years in gymnastics, I transitioned my passion to the diving board. Spending the past several months focusing on my diving skills, I have found a new calling with diving. As a result to this dedication, I had the opportunity to compete in regional and state meet my first year of diving.
My goal after high school graduation is to pursue a degree in the field of engineering or law while being part of a college swim and dive team. I am dedicated when it comes to both my academics and diving. My high school academics include honors pre calculus, honors spanish 4, AP physics and finally, AP psychology.
Even though I am fairly new to diving, I am dedicated, driven, and a quick learner when it comes to this sport. Over the next several years I would like to accomplish many things in my diving career, such as top 5 at both conference and state meet. I plan on carrying this goal through by actively attacking new dives with the mind set of pushing myself out of my comfort zone in order to fulfill my goals.
Some people may think it is a disadvantage to be new to such a competitive sport at an older age. However, I view it as one of my biggest strengths. This gives me motivation to push my boundaries and it also teaches me the importance of prioritizing important things. For example, placing schoolwork ahead of unimportant things like watching television.
I am looking forward to finding a college that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically. I am competitive, a talented diver, and possess the leadership and team work skills to make a good addition to a swimming and diving program.
