Hello! My name is Sydney Murray and I’m a junior at Avon High School where I dive on the varsity boys team(co-ed). Even before diving for high school, I started club diving at the age of ten. I had watched a couple of our local college’s practices and knew that I wanted to do that too. I still remember being so excited the first time I was allowed to jump off 3 meter, or the first time doing a flip. Since then I’ve grown as a diver and an athlete. I’m currently working to up my D.D. and clean up my voluntaries. I want to become the best diver I can be so I welcome criticism from my coaches and apply corrections when given. Outside of diving, I’m also on my school’s cross country team, dance competitively, get involved in multiple clubs, and volunteer. Most of the time my schedule is crazy busy, but I welcome the opportunities and have my parents to thank for teaching me great time management skills to balance it well with school work. I excel in my AP classes and am first in my class. My interests surround biology and my goal is to major in biotechnology/general bio as a pre-med degree. My end goal of becoming a physician comes from my parents' involvement in the healthcare field, my desire to help people, and my love of constant learning. I'm excited for the challenge of finding a college that challenges me academically and athletically.
