My journey to diving began when I was only 3 years old and I was enrolled in gymnastics as a safe outlet for my love of tumbling. Fearlessness and strength at a very young age gave me the edge to achieve success until an injury made me rethink my future. In late 2015, I was introduced to diving and immediately fell in love with the sport and thought it was exactly what I was supposed to be doing. Now, a couple of years later, I envision my years at college studying and diving and growing as an individual. I believe my strongest attribute is perseverance. My motto is: There is no such thing as failure, only stepping stones to success. This way of thinking has helped me in school and with my training. When things get tough, I just push a little harder. I am looking forward to becoming an asset to a college team that will push me as hard as I will push them.
I would say the best part about diving is when I’m standing on the board/platform getting ready to do a new and terrifying skill and I get that rush of adrenaline. Pushing myself to new limits is what I have done in everything and I will continue to push myself until I can go no further and then I will push some more. My favorite dives would have to be inward two and a half off seven meter platform and full-in off the three meter springboard. I started diving a bit late but am determined to do diving for as long as possible and I will do just about anything to keep it going. Outside of diving I am part of the Rotary, Interact Club and I volunteer to help out with events related to school or around my community. I also work at Goldfish Swim School as a swim instructor for children ages four months to 12 years old. I am also a Red Cross certified Lifeguard.
