Layla Boghdadi '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Layla Boghdadi, and I am a junior at Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. After a nine-year gymnastics career, I stepped onto a diving board for the first time about three years ago. Ever since, diving has become one of my greatest passions. I have been on the varsity dive team at my high school for the past two years, and I train year-round at State One Diving Club at the University of Delaware. During the summer, I train and compete on the Pennypacker Swim and Dive team in Downingtown, PA. The best part of my week is always getting to learn a new dive, and I can't wait to go to practice each day. Joining this sport was truly the best decision I have ever made.

Academically, I am currently maintaining a 4.64 weighted GPA. My education has always been a top priority in my life, and I continue to push myself to learn something new each time I step into the classroom. I am involved in a variety of extracurricular activities and school clubs, all of which I thoroughly enjoy putting quality time and effort into. 

Currently, I am working on preparing for the 2024-25 high school and club diving season, perfecting my 03 list on 3m, upgrading to more 05s, and transitioning my 1m dives to the pike position. My personal goal is to walk onto the deck with confidence and a positive mindset, and to always be willing to try a new dive. My current dive list is as follows: 

1m: 103b, 104c (and b), 105c, 201c (and a), 203c, (203b), 301b, 303c, 401b, 403c, 5122d, 5231d, 5223d, 5132d.

3m: 103b, 105c, 105b, 201c, 203c, 301b, 303c, 401b, 403b, 404c, 405c, 5231d, 5132d, 5233d.

At home, I enjoy reading books, attending Young Life, strumming on the guitar, and entertaining my adorable dog, Ezra. I work as a lifeguard during the summer and volunteer locally throughout the year.
