My interest in golf dates back to when I was young. At the time it was nothing serious, just for fun. My dad would take me to play occasionally and I started volunteering at the LPGA when it came to town. That's when the sport peaked my interest. I started playing golf competitively my freshman year in high school. I started out on the JV team, and worked my way up to varsity by the time I was a sophomore. Within that time I have gotten lessons from various private coaches. Since then I have made leaps and bounds from where I started and intend to continue my progress.
I have yet to decide on a specific major to pursue. With that being said, I have no preferance as far as campus location. I am, however, looking for a school who has a smaller campus and a small student to faculty ratio. I want a school who's academic level will challenge me and test my limits, and be able to provide me with an abundance of resources including internship opportunities, strong connections with local businesses, etc. I am also looking for school whose golf team is suited for me.
Even before I was playing golf I knew I wanted to play at College level no matter what sport. That dream is even more apparent to me now as the time draws nearer. I believe myself to be hard working and driven. I don't have many years of experience under my belt which may turn some away, but with my drive and dedication, I shaved 35 strokes off of my game from freshman to sophomore year. I strive to continue this progress as I am continuing to take lessons and seek out things to make me better. I am confident, responsible, and have good judgement. By the age of 15 I started working at the local golf course. Very quickly I learned how responsibility correlates with the real world. My confidence is what has gotten me thus far. I particularly enjoy theatre and arts that must be preformed in front of others. One cannot partake in activities such as this with little faith in themselves or confidence.
All in all I believe that I would be a good candidate for any women's golf team. I posses desired qualities such as a good work ethic and responsibility, I am dedicated to my sport and am always looking to improve, and I have the grades to prove that I won't make just a good athlete, but a good student as well.
