I am a junior at Alameda High School and the Captain of our Women's Varsity Golf team. I intend to play golf in college and bring my game to the next level.
I am currently sitting at a 5.3 handicap and have been on the team since Freshman year. I started playing golf when I was 8 years old and have played competitively since I was 10. Over the years, I have improved both my technical skills and mental game and continue to make improvements each and every day. I am very coachable and a strong team player.
On March 13th, I won first place in the San Francisco City Open Juli Inkster Flight. This matchplay event spanned five days and this year marked its 100th year anniversary. Winning this event has increased my confidence and I plan to apply this to future tournaments.
On an academic level, I have been a straight A student since grade school. My current GPA is a 4.8 (4.0 unweighted) and I am taking 4 APs and 1 Honors Class this school year. I intend to continue to challenge myself academically in my senior year with 4 AP classes and zero period.
Outside of golf, I enjoy making a difference for our community. I have been in leadership since middle school was the Student Body President in 8th grade. I am currently the Speaker of the House at Alameda High School, Commissioner of Student Voices, and Co-President of our school's Red Cross Club. Additionally, I initiated a weekly school newscast program to publicize events in our school and worked countless hours collaborating with my team to bring it to light. As a result, I was the first high school student to be awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2015 in the history of our city!
I hope to continue to make an impact in my college years in golf, academics and the community!
