Being active has always been important to me and I have enjoyed different types of sports and activities throughout the years. I remember joining dance classes and later playing soccer at an early age, but it wasn’t until I began to play golf that I realized how much I enjoyed it and what I could learn from the game itself. I began playing with my father recreationally and he saw that I wanted to improve my skills, which led me to work with a golf coach at the age of eight. Ever since then, I practice daily and spend time at the range, on the putting greens, and trying to get myself out of tricky situations from the sand. Golf is a priority to me and I constantly think of ways I can make my game better. Golf is a huge mental game and although I could use some work in that area, I try to remain calm when things don't workout as planned. I think back to basics, I think about my swing and make adjustments. Something that sets me apart from the rest is that I don't let bad holes dictate how the rest of my round will go. I am capable of coming back from a wayward shot and I can navigate back to being a better player. That is one of the beauties of golf, aside from being surrounded by beautiful scenery, each hole is an opportunity to adjust and start over in a sense. I am excited at the possibility of playing college golf and at the prospect of continuing to improve my skills. I am willing to work hard, to be dedicated to the team, and to continue to learn the lessons that golf can teach me.
