August 2014Personal Statement
My name is Anna Song. I am 120 pounds and 5'4''. I am currently a Senior at Tesoro High School in Orange County, California and will be graduating in 2016.
I have been playing golf for 5 years but started playing tournaments (SCGA and Johnson Tours) in the beginning of 2013. I started out averaging a score of 95~100 for 18 holes, but as I am continuously working towards a lower score, I am now averaging at an 81 for 18 holes.
So far I have played 3 years of Varsity golf, ranking as top 4 in the team. Last season, Tesoro's golf team won the South Coast League Championships and also earned 2nd place in CIF championships. This year we earned the title of South Coast League Champions again.
This summer, I have been playing in Southern California PGA tournaments and have also been busy preparing for the SAT. Currently, I have a GPA of 3.47.
I believe that once a hard-working person finds something they love, anything is possible. I have the desire to work as hard as I can to reach my ultimate goal of attending a college where I can play golf and challenge myself both academically and athletically.
