I am very passionate about sports. I am even more passionate about my father. Thanksgiving 2015 - my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. In January of 2016 he had surgery and in the fall, he underwent radiation and chemotherapy. I watch him battle cancer mentally and physically each day. Even in pain, he would and still goes to work – he runs his own company and he feels responsible for his employees, their families as well as his own.
I strive to be as brave and strong as my dad. He inspires me day in and day out. I push myself every day to do better in the classroom. I push myself on the golf course and the soccer field. A bad day on the course, a twisted ankle, etc. – I don’t let it stop me. I push through.
At first coaches that don’t know me, usually dismiss me because of my size. Once they see me play, they understand that I’m very determined. I always give an all-out effort because I absolutely hate to lose. Oh yes, I’m very athletic. I have played multiple sports thought-out elementary, middle and finally into high school. I made varsity basketball as a freshman and by mid-season was the starting point guard. In my sophomore year, I was the starting point guard. During games, I rarely came out for a breather. In my junior year (winter 2016), I picked soccer over basketball as my high school wouldn’t allow me to play both (they are both winter sports in Southern California). I was one of the top goal scorers in the league and well above the national average (per max preps). I was humbled to make all league first team in soccer and was team MVP. My coach tells me I was tied for league MVP but that was given to another player as she was a senior. I also play club soccer. Of course, I play golf as much as I can. I am honored that I am the first girl in Diamond Ranch High school history to make CIF. I hope to continue to lead my golf teammates at Diamond Ranch this fall.
I train all the time – golf and soccer. Since, I’m a multiple sport athlete, conditioning is not an issue with me. I would love to be able to play both golf and soccer at the college level. I hope that there is an institution willing to give me the opportunity to do both. They will not be disappointed.
My goal is to major in business in college. I want to be able to take what my dad has taught me about running a company and establish my own business after graduation.
