Hi my name is Lauren Allen and I am hoping to play golf in college. As a current student athlete, I understand the time and commitment it takes to maintain a high GPA and keep a routine practice schedule. I am looking to study in the field of engineering during college; this will be my main focus with golf close behind. Some aspects of me that will be beneficial to a collegiate golf team would be my experience with teamwork as well as my work ethic. Golfing, in my past years of playing on a team, requires a support system to encourage success. As I have played many team sports before, such as basketball, softball, and soccer, a support system is vital to a team's success. Along with being a team player, I found that my biggest motivator has been myself. I am the one to push myself harder when the results I want aren't met. So hours of practice and hours of studying are just a few ways that I push myself to do something in order to improve. I will apply this method of motivation to help others improve as well as push myself forward to reach my goals. Something that sets me aside from other potential athletes is that I feel that I have an obligation to support fellow team mates as well as opponents. I act as leader for others and I advocate for everyone to do their very best. This aspect of sportsmanship has been relevant throughout my life and has made a major difference in the way my game is played.
