Personal Statement

I have been playing golf my whole life, and I remember when I was 9 I said, "I want to play golf in college!" A few years went by, and at the end of my 8th grade year I started looking at colleges just for golf, with a purpose. However, now a sophomore, I have matured realizing that I desire a balance between my dreams in golf and academics. I believe I can achieve both while attending a quality university and play Division 2 golf.  I have a strong and realistic mindset in golf and school, leadership skills, positive team spirit, and motivation.

  • CIF Individual
  • 10/22/18 to 10/22/18

  • (Placed: 2/29) Par 71, Day 1: 78, 11 GIR, 34 Putts. Day 2: 77, 11 GIR, 32 Putts.
  • Camp/Event
  • California Women's State Championship at Ojai Valley
  • 8/13/18 to 8/15/18
  • Camp/Event
  • David L. Baker Summer Classic
  • 7/29/18 to 7/29/18
  • 63, par 62. Was able to hit 6/18 approach shots within 10ft, and 4 chips within 4 ft.
  • Camp/Event
  • California Women's Amateur Championship at Quail Lodge
  • 7/24/18 to 7/25/18
  • Rating: 75.3, Slope: 135; 6134/6256 yards (par 72). Day 1: 85. GIR: 11. Putts: 39. *From this I realized my eyes were not over the ball correctly when putting, and I worked on it very hard for the next day. Day 2: 85. GIR: 7. Putts: 35. Although my putting improved from Day 1 to Day 2, I realized I need to work harder to improve all aspects of my game. During practice (on the course) I am aiming to hit within 10ft on every approach shot.
  • Camp/Event
  • SCGA Women's Qualifier at Goose Creek
  • 7/10/18 to 7/10/18
  • Yardage: 6,262 Slope: 136 Rating: 75.8 Score: 82, 9 greens, 37 putts. I struggled a bit on the front 9 to hit greens but was able to redeem myself.

Day 3: Round of 16 loss 5 and 4: 14 holes with 8 greens, 18 putts. +2 after 14 holes Analysis: On the 2 days between tournaments, I worked hard to adjust to the putting surfaces that were extremely hard and fast. My efforts paid off! This was also the first time I ever played match play. I enjoyed the experience. https://www.ghintpp.com/ncga/TPPOnlineScoring/ResultsMatch.aspx?ID=2537&mgid=127
  • Camp/Event
  • 14th Annual Women's & Senior Women's Amateur Championship - Poppy Hills GC - NCGA

Finish: 21/ 30 https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/1276240 Analysis: Drivers 17/18 good drives and in strategic locations. I have been working on my driver lately. I handled difficult courses very well. Putting: a very hard putting surface with cold temperatures proved to be a tough adjustment and I had 2 three putts and 1 four putt. Day 2 I am just going to say, "it was one of those days in golf". From this I practiced very hard so I could prove myself in the next tournament.
