My goals include finding the right college where I can play golf and contribute to a successful team and succeed academically.
Throughout high school I have demonstrated the ability to balance high level academics and lettered in four varsity sports, qualifying for state championships in three of those sports – cross country, tennis and golf. Looking forward, I would like to focus on golf while still being a multi-sport athlete in HS because I love to compete and believe each sport has brought different sporting experiences and perspectives I can draw upon in the future. I have become very passionate about golf and I’m working extremely hard to be the best I can be, aspiring to play golf in college and contribute to my team’s success. I truly love the team aspect that golf - it’s such a great feeling to do well for your team, school and self. Additionally, I believe the team aspect of competition increases my individual performances across all sports.
In both freshman, sophomore and junior spring golf seasons, I played on the varsity teams and named to the First Team honors in the CSML 5A (Colorado Springs Metro League), All Conference honors, with my top tournament scores in the low 80's as a freshman and high 70's and low 80's as a sophomore and junior. I qualified for state championships all 3 years and was named MVP of the Coronado girls golf team. In 2019 I finished 6th at the CHSAA 4A State Championships and was named to the first team, All State. I hope to build on my success in my senior year. I am very competitive and dedicated and one of the hardest working athletes you will find and excited to see how far I can go in golf.
In addition to getting MVP honors, and All State recognition in golf, I also ran cross-country (all-conference honors, state qualifier), played varsity basketball, and played tennis (singles 2) all conference first team honors as well as a state qualifier. Through my hard work and dedication across all sports played, I keep very fit which I pride myself on and believe is an advantage on the golf course.
I give back to my community by volunteering over 40 hours a year with the John Zay House (a guest house for Penrose Hospital for older patients who need to travel for cancer treatments), the Rocky Mountain Field Institute and Care and Share.
I am grateful for the support of my parents. I come from a sports minded family - my father is the head coach for the Canadian Olympic cycling team and my mother is a long-time Olympic family professional. We are a dedicated sports family and I know what commitment it takes to be a world class athlete. I also have a twin sister who competes in two sports (tennis and volleyball), lettering in both and competing at to state in both sports.
I am open to all options and ultimately would like to find a college where I may pursue excellence in both athletics and academics while also contributing to a positive and successful team experience. I would like to be a great role model for my college community and to make my family proud.
Thanks for your consideration.
