Alexis Girton '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches, 

My name is Lexi Girton, and I am super passionate about my family, golf, and friends. I am a super outgoing friendly person, I love to have fun with all the people I'm around and make lots of fun memories. I love meeting new people and making new friends. My family members are my biggest supporters and have helped me go through this crazy, fun, and exciting journey of golf and life. 

Before I started playing golf, I played soccer my whole life until the Winter of my Sophomore year (2020) when I finally got burnt out with the sport and my teammates. I wanted to try something new, at which point I decided to give golf a try since my dad was always talking about how much he loved it, and it had always interested me. I joined my high school team at monarch in February and made varsity within the first 2 months of playing. I was the number 4 seed for pretty much all of my sophomore season, only playing in varsity tournaments. After a lot of hard work that next summer I quickly became the number 1 seed my junior year season. I was the 1 all season and participated in all varsity tournaments and events. 

Since I started golf, I have loved every part of it. I am super passionate about the sport, am super coachable, and absolutely love playing and competing. Even though I have only been playing for a year and a half, since I started playing in spring of 2021, I have dropped 61 strokes off if my first tournament score. Just in the summer of 2022 I lost 8 strokes. I am seeing results quickly and am developing in the sport, learning a lot.

I still have a lot to learn and want to keep learning which is what I hope I will be able to do in college. I don't know if you could tell from this personal statement or not, but I am a super fun, competetive, outgoing and hardworking player, and would be a great addition to any team.
