I am Maryn Harlow, a 17 year old junior golfer. I’m about to start my senior year at Loveland High School in Loveland, Colorado. I have a very strong desire to achieve my goals of playing golf at the collegiate level. I have worked with my swing coach Derek Cordova for the last 5 years. He helped me in the beginning when I couldn’t break 100 to now shooting in the 70’s. I have spent a lot of time out at the course preparing for each and every tournament.
A lot of success came during my Sophomore and Junior high school golf seasons. My Sophomore year I helped my team win the Colorado Girls 5A State Championship. My Junior season we finished runner up and I was named 2nd team all state. I ended my season with a 78.2 scoring average.
I have played in several AJGA qualifiers and events in Colorado, South Dakota, and Texas this past year. I played the majority of my Summer in Colorado Golf Association (CGA) tournaments and Colorado PGA Junior Golf (COPGA) tournaments. I ended up taking 8th place at a COPGA Major this past July shooting 84,78,79 on a par 72 course with a 152 slope. I played a match play tournament in June at Devils Tower Golf Club Wyoming. I placed second in the first flight group, winning my 1st match 1 up through 18 holes. I won my second match coming from behind, 3 down with 5 to play to win 1 up on the 18th. I lost the finals match 1 down through 19 holes. I am a determined individual with a lot of goals for my future not only athletically but academically.
I have had a lot of success in the classroom maintaining a 3.89 GPA and taking several honors classes and AP classes. I am a proud member of The National Honor Society. Golf is not my only extra curricular activity. I have played on my school's basketball team all throughout my high school career and been on Varsity since my Sophomore year. Living in Colorado all my life I also entertain myself with various recreational activities such as skiing, hunting, and ATVing.
I strongly believe I am a diamond in the rough. With the right coach to guide me through my college years, I can continue to show drastic improvements in my game. With the right coaching, I expect I can post a scoring average in the mid to low 70’s.
