My love for golf has recently pushed me towards looking at golf and playing golf collegiately. As captain of my team senior year, I believe that especially as a team player and leader, I add a sense of community to the teams I play on. While golf is an individual sport, one thing I’ve learn from playing high school golf as a team, is that not only do you have to make decisions both on and off the course that may directly affect yourself, but also think about how it affects everyone of your teammates as well. As I have gotten an Academic Scholar Athlete award in the past, being a collegiate player not only means being good at your sport, but equally as good academics wise. While I may not be the best golfer out there, I believe if given the opportunity to play collegiately, I would make a great team player who always communicates with my teammates and encourages everyone to play and be the best version of themselves.
