I am a 5’4” senior from Sebring, Fl. I have played in the Sertoma Junior Golf Tour for 8 years and have been on the high school varsity team for 4 years. Also, for the past two years, I have been asked to represent our local golf tour at the Florida State Golf Association Junior Team Championship tournament.
Golf is my passion, but getting my education is my #1 priority because I know that if all else fails, my education will always be with me. I am looking for a school that has a good quality science department. I will be majoring in either biotechnology, genetics, or micropropagation. Although I would like to attend a school in the south-eastern part of the United States, I am not opposed to going elsewhere. Also, the size of the school does not matter to me as long as I am receiving a quality education. I am a strong student, maintaining a 4.07 weighted GPA, while I am active in FFA, Teen Trend Setters, and, of course, Golf. My family does have some financial need but I am prepared to do whatever it takes to help pay for college. I am qualified for the Florida Bright Futures Academic Scholars Scholarship, which covers 100% tuition costs. But, this scholarship will not follow me out of state. My long term athletic goal is to play on the LPGA, which I know is a big goal but I believe that with my determination and dedication, I will be able to accomplish this.
