Morgan Powers '17 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Morgan Powers. Golf has been my life for the past five years. Since my freshman year I have been on the high school golf team. My freshman year I played 3^rd on the team and for the last two years I have been the number one player. Year after year I have improved my high school score average by four strokes or more. For the last two years I have been the high school team captain leading my team to two district wins and a conference win this year. This is the first time in the history of the school we have won our conference and had an undefeated season.

I have also been fortunate enough to participate in the First Tee program which allows me to improve my golf game and life skills outside of golf. I am a part of the PLAYers club which is a group of select high school students that golf together and represent the First Tee in special events. I was chosen to represent the First Tee program on the golf channel with Martin Hall. It was an amazing experience that allowed to represent the First Tee and express Martin Hall and his audience what a wonderful program the First Tee is.

I started playing competitively outside of school over the past year in the Florida Junior Tour, the Hurricane Junior Tour and the Greater Tampa Junior Tour. The experience has only enhanced my desire to continue to play golf competitively. Each tournament has been a tremendous learning experience and I have improved my score each time.

I am ready to play golf in college because I want to continue to improve my game. I love the challenge golf sets in front of me. I also take pride in what I do and make sure I represent my school and program well. I also have acquired leadership qualities from being team captain that have built up my ability to keep the team spirit and create a unified group.
