I would like to play competitive college golf while majoring in either architecture or business. I'm considering architecture because I'm interested in designing houses. I am considering majoring in business because I think there are opportunities to do different things with a business degree. I have been golfing since I was five years old when my dad would take me to the golf course to practice with him and my little sister. It started out with my dad just wanting to teach us the game so he'd have golf buddies, but I started taking lessons and learned that I enjoyed playing in tournaments. I have seen a lot of progress from when I was just starting to play golf up until now. I've competed at IMG Junior Worlds five times. I live in Hawaii and have played a few other tournaments on the mainland, most recently the U.S. Women's Amateur at Chambers Bay. It's hard to travel to the mainland for tournaments because of the travel time, change in time zone and expense, but I like to experience competing and testing myself against new people at new courses. Playing in a competitive atmosphere makes me want to pursue golf to see where it takes me in the future.
