My name is Lydia Quinn. I've been golfing since my freshman year, and I'm a hardworking, responsible athlete. I switched from volleyball where I was on a national travel team to golf the day after started high school due to a serious concussion my 8th grade year. I was out of all activities for 8 months which was really challenging but I grew a great deal from that experience and learned resiliency. I had played golf as a young girl with my family and attended local golf camps. I was the #5/6 golfer and filled in regularly on the squad on our team until this year when I became #1 after 4 seniors graduated. This year I have had the opportunity to really blossom and our team grew from 6 when I started to 15. I was medalist at a match and at conference I made a PR on the front 9 with a 39. I was also all conference with a score of 86. Our team was not expected to make it out of sectionals but we placed second and played at Regionals. It was my 3rd time playing at Regionals at Country Oaks. I have been voted Captain of our team which is quite an honor. I also pole vault in track, and I'm busy exercising all year round. I am eager to learn and get better, and I like to be challenged. I do a lot of other activities including 4-H, orchestra, dance marathon, Habitat for Humanity and much more. Service work is one of the most rewarding experiences and I plan to continue those activities in college. I really hope to pay collegiate golf as I feel my skill set will continue to improve.
