Jara Hockemeyer '22 Recruiting Profile

Golf has been apart of my life since I could walk. Every labor day, memorial day, and July 4th my family would hold a golf outing with all our family and friends. I have only been competitive in golf for four years and have had no outside lessons besides my high school coaches.  However, my heart and a part of me will forever reside in golf. I have a great work ethic and am easily coachable. Most of my game I have learned through mistakes and trial and error, so I am not afraid of failure and understand that the only way to get better is to work my way up. I don't necessarily know what makes me different from other recruits but I do know that I am a hard worker, who respects the advice and commitment of my coaches and teammates.  One thing that does set me apart is I have helped run the golf camp at my local golf course for the last four years. I participated in the golf camp growing up and it was a huge part of the reason I learned how to swing a club, by helping teach the next generation I was able to give back to the community what they gave to me.
