I joined my school's girls golf team in 6th grade, not knowing where it would take me. Now I am a junior, and finally believe that I have the focus and determination to play collegiate golf. Golf is the only sport that I truly love and have a passion for. I am very coachable, meaning I take constructive criticism well and can execute what a coach is telling me to do. I am also mentally strong and always focus on my next shot, even if the last one was undesirable. Academically, I am driven to try my best. However, that was not always the case. My freshman year of high school was very rough and I was uninterested in school, which resulted in my grades being below average, for example, C's and D's. My sophomore year I realized that I did not want to take that path throughout life, and changed my mindset. I changed for the better and finished with straight A's. Now, as a junior, I have A's and B's in all of my classes, which are all AP level and college credit. I am also an active member of the student council, as I have chaired and co-chaired many activities. I welcome change instead of being close minded, and I truly feel that I can continue my growth and become an above average athlete, student, and citizen.
