When I started playing golf, I was a freshman with no experience. Now, I can say with confidence that I have worked for the past three years to drop around 20 strokes off of my freshman year 9-hole scoring average and almost 30 off of my lowest 18-hole score. I am now consistently in the low 50s and mid 40s and still improving by going to the course and working on the rougher aspects of my game. My unofficial best 9-hole score is a 41. For my senior year, I have already put in months of effort—starting as soon as the high school season ended—by working with my private coach, Erica Wicoff. I work just as hard in academics as I do in athletics with a 12.75 GPA on an 11 point scale. I take AP as well as dual credit courses for the later benefits that include higher education leading to Medical School. My achievements academically as well as my extracurriculars with music, theater, and community service were the reasons for my selection into both Hoosier Girls State and National Honor Society.
