Growing up with a golf course practically in my backyard, I have been exposed to the game of golf from a very early age. I never really took the sport seriously, however, until around two years ago. I began to play in tournaments over the summer, spring, and winter seasons to catch up with my competition. In these two years, I have found a love for the game and a desire to continue my athletic career past high school. While I may have lost a few years compared to other girls my age in terms of scoring, I believe that I have a lot of potential for growth and improvement because of it.
My dad played Division 1 basketball at Purdue University and Southern Methodist University and has placed a heavy emphasis on athletics for my entire life. I have participated in almost every sport for at least some time since I was a child. Through these experiences, I have learned how to be a team player and also a coachable athlete. I have been on a team for as long as I can remember and have enjoyed the bonds that are formed between teammates, even in an individual sport like golf.
