The strength of my golf game is my power and my length. I have a solid drive and a great length with my irons. I can be coached and I am a quick learner. My club speed is very good and my athleticism and strength give me the potential to continue to improve. I am just beginning to become more consistent and tap into my potential. I am confident that my best days are ahead of me as I have only just begun to make golf my number one priority. I may be a little behind others in my age group but I feel that I have great college potential and have a higher ceiling for improvement and success. Last year, my average was around 86 and this year my average is around 79.
I have been playing golf since I was 12 years old. Prior to that, I had played softball, volleyball and basketball. Basketball was my primary sport as both parents were successful high school coaches. I began playing golf in middle school as my brother had been playing and my dad also played so I began to tag along. Golf began to grow on me and has now become my main priority. I continue to play basketball on a very successful team where I have started varsity guard every year but I know that my college future is playing golf. I believe that playing basketball has helped me be a strong golfer and that golf has played a big part in my mental toughness as a basketball player.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have completed several dual credit classes. I also serve on the Indiana High School Student Athletic Council as a representative for my school. I volunteer to work school athletic events when I am not participating myself. I am a member of our high school student council and Renaissance Club.
I want to attend a college where I can enjoy the overall college experience and pursue my career in the classroom and on the golf course. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. My brother attends college and currently plays golf and basketball. My parents are college graduates and both are successful teachers and coaches and I hope to follow their footsteps in becoming a successful college graduate with a career where I can have a positive affect on our society and environment. My future is wide open to possibilities and I will work hard to open doors and pursue opportunities.
