Personal Statement
I am a very competitive, confident, hardworking individual both athletically and academically. I fully commit myself to the task in hand, whether it is working on my studies or practising on the driving range. Over the past few years I have developed as a player and a person. I have learnt from my mistakes and weaknesses and am a stronger person for it.
Attending Epsom College has been a great experience for me. I am proud to say that I was the first student to be awarded a golf scholarship. I was selected to play for the team on a weekly basis, playing in position 1 or 2. I was faced with tough matches against other schools and more often than not, I was playing against boys. This has been challenging but very rewarding, especially when I won! I enjoy both individual and team events. I am a committed, coachable player with the determination to get better and succeed.
Some of my golfing highlights included captaining Surrey Juniors during County Week. After a tough week, we took home the trophy! Shortly after, I was selected for Surrey's first team (Adults) and helped them win the national tournament with wins in all my matches. Winning the English South Regional Scratch Championship with rounds of 67, 75 was very exciting. More recently, receiving an email from the R&A saying that I was to be included on the World Amateur Golf Ranking list was a huge achievement for me and something that I am very proud of.
The highlight of my high school was achieving fantastic grades in my exams. My current grades translate to a 3.9 GPA. Through this process, I have learnt that if you put in the hard work, positive results will happen. I believe this is the case with golf as well.
Outside of golf, I hope to study Criminal Justice, Criminal Psychology or Business.
I would really love to be given the opportunity to study and play collegiate golf in the U.S.
