Personal Statement
My name is Anaahat Bindra and I am from Kolkata, India. I am a golfer and I will be applying for the Fall 2026 intake! I have recently started my Grade 11 (Junior year), at La Martiniere for Girls School.
I believe collegiate golf can be a great foundation in my journey towards becoming a professional golfer.
I have been playing golf since I was five and have actively participated in several national and international tournaments. Some highlights of my career include finishing T4th at the 37th National Games organized by the Indian Olympic Federation with scores of 71, 74, 79, and 75, and securing 1st place in the West Bengal State Championship with scores of 68 and 73. Additionally, I have participated in various professional tournaments, achieving 3rd place at the Hero Professional Women’s Golf Tour event held at Royal Calcutta Golf Club and 5th place at the Hero Professional Women’s Golf Tour event held at Tollygunge Golf Club, winning low amateur honors in both. These accomplishments demonstrate my capability to compete at higher levels.
Playing golf produces a strong feeling of pride in me and gives birth to a dream and a longing to compete at the highest level: the LPGA tour. This passion has led me to believe that collegiate golf in the United States would be ideal for me to pursue this dream. With surreal competition, collegiate golf would be a great exposure and push me to the peak of my ability. I play on the Indian Golf Union National tour and currently I am amongst the top 15 Indians on the World Amateur Golf Rankings for women. (WAGR) .
My best round stands at a 68 ( 4 under par)- which I played at the State Amateur Championships and I am currently my state Ladies Amateur Champion.
I also take part in other extracurricular activities like debating, Model UN, elocution and Classical vocal music.
I have maintained a high GPA and shall strive to continue to do so.
For an all-round student like me, pursuing education and playing golf at the collegiate level in the United States would be a dream come true.
