Personal Statement

I have always been interested in being a successful businesswoman since young. Steve Jobs has been an important idol to me.  He has all the necessary character and attributes to make him a genuine businessman.  I believe that I too have the strong personality to strive and achieve my goals.

Firstly, I believe that good leadership is vital in order to run a gigantic business.  It is also one essential skills which each individual should have.   As a leader, we need to understand that not everyone will agree with us, but it is necessary to make decisions based on the good of the people surrounding us.  A leader would also need to stand firm in the face of opposition to the decisions that they feel strongly are right.  This is an area I feel all leaders struggle with but I think I am capable of.  A great example of leadership is Winston Churchill.  He had to lead a struggling United Kingdom against the Nazis lead by Adolf Hitler.  He believed in himself and managed to get the perfect strategy to defeat his allies.  He was under immense pressure but he managed to overcome it.  He truly shows what a great leader should possess.

I believe that awareness of what's going on around us is key in getting the right business opportunities.  In any of my golf tournaments, I would analyse the condition of the golf course and try to take advantage of the course.  In school as well, I would analyse all things I learnt and have to decided what I should study more.  Analysing is also key in everyday life like investigating if the product/service is worthy of the price it holds.  Tony Fernandes explored the possibility of starting a low-cost airline in the South East Asian region.  It turned out to be successful and he managed to expand his company (AirAsia) to worldwide stage. He shows that exploring and analysing possibilities can help him gain insight knowledge of his personal interest.

During my golf tournaments, I realised that stress handling is very important.  When I played badly, I would have to try to manage my temper and try to cheer myself up by listening to music.  Listening music helps me relieve stress and do my homework.  In school, I also try to help my friends solve their woes so that they would not get easily stressed out.  Some people do not handle stress quite well and end up causing lots of trouble.   I would try to maintain my stress level to the minimum so that I would not upset the people around me especially my clients when I am working.

In school, I would always try to come to terms with my friends.  I do not like to see people arguing with each other, especially when I am involved in the argument.  In the world of business, argument would tend to lead to negative output like losses.  This personality would help me make new friends and open up social circle.  Social circle is vital in the future as you would have someone to assist you when you are in trouble.  Having friends everywhere also makes me feel occupied as I have friends to keep me busy and entertained.

I always have a habit of finishing work as soon as possible so that I would have time to relax.  This habit could prove to be vital when I start working.  In any occupation,  people with a higher position would tend to like their employees to work as hard and finish up the project as soon as possible.  With this habit, people tend to give you more respect and trusting you with a higher responsibility.  This sort of commitment is quite rare and I do possess it to achieve my personal goal.
