My name is Isabelle Soh and I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My dad introduced me to golf at a young age, however, I only discovered my passion for competitive golf at the age of 15, and it has since become an integral part of my daily life. Although I had a late start to the competitive scene, I take it as an added challenge and push myself even harder to continue improving my game.
Some highlights of my golf journey include representing my highschool, and state, Kuala Lumpur in the Kejohanan Golf MSSM (National Malaysian Schools Championship) for 2 years back-to-back (2022, 2023). In my final year as a highschool senior, we managed to rake in a bronze medal for the Girls U18 team event. Another feat I am proud of was getting selected to represent Kuala Lumpur in the biannual Sukan Malaysia (Malaysia Games) after shooting a 76 (+4) during team selections. My career low score is a 73 (+1), achieved during the Negeri Sembilan Amateur Open. I am a committed and coachable player with the drive to work hard to achieve my goals.
Academics also plays a very important role in my life and is something I have always prioritised, even while juggling training golf for 6 days a week. My proudest achievement in academics includes scoring 5A+, 3A and 1B+ in my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam at the start of 2024, which translates to a 3.9 GPA. I also sat for the SAT and TOEFL, scoring a 1380 and 117 respectively.
Outside of golf and academics, I have been involved in multiple leadership roles throughout my schooling, including being a school prefect, as well as the President of the STEM Club at my highschool.
My aspirations include pursuing excellence in both golf and academics. I have a passion in the sciences, especially biology, and hope to further my studies in a prestigious university whilst also playing collegiate level golf in a competitive DI/DII school.
