Personal Statement
My name is Mia Scrimgeour and I am a Freshman currently attending Missouri Southern State University majoring in International, Political and Legal Affairs. I am hoping to further my education after graduation by attending Law School. I recently placed top 10 in the MIAA Conference Championships. Although I am thrilled to be the only freshman in the top 10, I want to win. I want to win not only as a team but as an individual. I want to be All-American and I'm ready to find a college who can help me achieve this. At conference I put scores of 75, 80, 82 and on Eagle Creek Golf Club I was proud of that. If you look at the rest of the leaderboard I think you would agree with me. A drastic change in the roster at Missouri Southern has led me to transfer, I am willing to further discuss this with you. My education is a number one priority and I always ensure during the season I am ahead of my school work so I do not fall behind when we travel. I am an athlete who likes flexibility when it comes to practice. I am very aware of my golf game and often know what I need to work on, so flexibility to do this fits me well as an athlete, whilst support and encouragement from the coaches. I strongly believe that we should train as athletes. What I mean by this is not only do we practice golf, but I go to the gym everyday and work on different muscles, I go to therapy to better my mental game and I am aware of what I eat to ensure I always have enough energy. Being a well-rounded athlete is important to me and having a team and coach that supports this is perfect. I am a ball of energy and always ready for a good time. I play music way to loud and have a very strong accent as I am from New Zealand. I will be the one dancing on course and making you laugh. My friends would say I am very hard working and sometimes put so much on my plate that my days are scheduled to the minute. Although this is the case, I always find a way to achieve everything to the absolute best of my ability. Here at Missouri Southern I was a Global Leader and a Lion Ambassador so the administration saw my leadership abilities and rewarded me for this.
