Personal Statement
My name is Mélissa, I'm 17 and live in Switzerland near Geneva. I started playing golf at 9 with my dad, who is passionate about the sport, and fell in love with it. My mother and younger brother also play, so it's a family activity. I started competing at 12 and joined the Swiss Regional Team (Region Geneva) in November 2019. This gave me more training opportunities and helped improve my technique and physical abilities. Since September 2022, I have a private coach who has been very helpful. Despite a challenging season, I finished the year with a 1.6 handicap and placed 2nd in the Swiss Golf Junior Final, almost qualifying for the WAGR. This experience taught me a lot and gave me motivation for improvement. I'm looking forward to working on my swing during the off-season. I am now 0.0 hcp, my game and my scoring average start to improve a lot. Academically, I am in a class for the Swiss maturity equivalent to the baccalaureate and have 54 pts out of 66, with a goal of 44 to pass the year. I'm currently classed 3rd out of 21 in my class. I enjoy learning and aim for good grades, with aspirations to study economics or business in college with a strong golf team.
