Personal Statement
As someone who is very talkative and outgoing, I wasn't expecting to do well on such a lonely and mentally draining sport, but I did! I started playing golf in 2018 with my father, in our home town Rio de Janeiro. I learned to love the game during the pandemic and while everything was closed, the golf course was my escape. I spent every day working on my game and enjoyed it thoroughly. The first tournament after the pandemic was the Brazilian Junior championship which is the most important junior tournament of the year. 2 months before this tournament, I had a back injury, which took me out of the golf course for 6 weeks. I started playing two weeks prior to the event, and won with a final round 69. This experience showed me that I have the mindset, the skill and the determination it takes, to be an excellent player.
Notable:
Out of my last 11 starts, I have won 8.
I am currently ranking at 300th on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
I am the second brazilian woman to have ever won the junior and amateur national championships in the same year.
