Courtney Ott '14 Recruiting Profile

Since I was in grade school, I've been a dedicated athlete, that loves all kinds of sports. Growing up, I was out on the course almost every weekend with my dad, considering we live just off the golf course this was easy bonding time. Through middle school I was in all sports offerend in my school, volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. Once I got into high school golf caught my eye, not many people did it in my school I got picked on a bit but I didn't care I wanted to try it at a competivie level. I decided to go out see see what would happen. I found out how addicting it could get and how much I could love a sport. I will have been playing competivly for 3 years now and I love it!! For the past two years I have been team captain, captain is given to the "number one" golfer on the team, and one that can lead. I'm almost always the first to go to practice and the last to leave. Not because I have to, but because all I care about is improving myself, and the team. In the summer I would skip breakfast, lunch, and  dinner not even realizing because I just want to go 'just one more round', to see if I can do better. Im very self motivated and quick learning, im also team orianted, I love helping people! For the future, I dream for a  long career in golf and I think the best way to start this journey is to continue my golfing carrer in college! Coming from Iowa I'm use to crazy weather, I can golf in just about anything! Im very open minded when it comes to the division of college I will play in.  My goal is to make a team on the collegic level, and to contribute to the team, while learning all new things!

UPDATE: I made it to the State Golf Tournament for 2a in Iowa! :) Very excited!

UPDATE: I made FIRST TEAM ALL STATE in class 2a:)!
