I am a sophomore at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and am a member of the women’s golf team. I found an interest in golf as I watched my dad play when I was younger. I started to take golf seriously my freshman year of high school and I received my first lesson then as well. Over the years, I have found golf continues to surprise me; whether that is positive or negative. Golf has taught me about life, from learning how to pick yourself up after a bad hole or shot, and has also showed me how putting hard work into something you are passionate about can be so rewarding.
I have also taken my academics seriously by maintaining a 3.5 GPA. I am interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the fields of Psychology/Sociology, Nutrition or Golf Coaching/Management. I would also like to pursue the opportunity of being able to golf while I am working towards my bachelor’s degree.
I am interested in a golf program that is competitive and enjoyable as well. I want coaches who push me and help me excel in golf and life, and provide a balance between the two. With my determination, passion, and willingness to learn, I will be a competitive asset to your team.
