🚨 I have verbally committed to Central College 🚨
Hello! My name is Faith Roozeboom and I’ve played golf for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was little, I would go out to the course with my dad during the summer and play a round with him. I have loved being able to spend so much time with him where we have been able to work on my game and spend quality time together. I have participated in many sports throughout my life. I have done cross country, volleyball, dance, gymnastics, and golf. Now that I have figured out my real passions in life, I have found that golf and dance best suit me, and those are the two sports that I am involved in currently.
I have recently decided that golf might be something I want to pursue at the college level, while I work towards becoming an Elementary Teacher. Golf is something that I enjoy and find to be fun. I love to be outside, and being around so many fun girls make the experience even better. As a freshman, I golfed on the varsity team and won the individual conference title, making 1st team all conference, and the team was named conference champions. As a sophomore, I was the number one golfer and was named 1st team all conference and 2nd team all state.
Although, I do have a competitive side, golf is not something that I let affect me mentally. I realize golf is a mental sport as much as it is an athletic sport, and I like to have fun with likeminded friends while I’m at the course. I believe that having the mindset of not taking everything so serious has helped me be a better golfer. I don’t get frustrated when I hit bad shots or when I’m not scoring how I want to. I am calm and just focus on the next shot and what I need to do to keep my score low.
Something else that is important to me is my faith. I am involved in many extracurricular that involve my church. I attend youth group, I have started a youth worship night with my friends, I have gone on many mission trips, been to many christian conferences, and I am going on a mission trip to Abaco in June. My relationship with Jesus is extremely important to me and I am looking for a college that has opportunities that might include some sort of chapel, or just a space where youth gather to worship and talk about the Lord.
