I have always known that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. When I was four years old my grandma would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I would always tell her that I wanted to be a doctor. Since I can remember I have wanted to help people and to know how the human body works, and pursuing medicine is my way of doing that.
The field of medicine is constantly changing and it is always something that I have found interesting. Over the years I have thought more and more about what type of medicine I want to pursue, and I have always come back to children. I love working with kids and just people in general, so I have focused on pediatrics. Pediatrics has been the field that I want to go into because I want to help children and allow them to feel safe.
Throughout high school I have taken many science and math classes to help me get as much of a head start as possible. I doubled up on science my sophomore year so that I could take more advanced classes later on. I am also a year ahead in math so I will be able to take more advanced math classes as well. I am currently trying to get as many college credit hours as I can while in high school, so that I can be better prepared for college. I plan to take more science classes over the summer through Hutchinson Community College as well. My ultimate goal has been medicine, my intermittent goal is to get into a good school that will help me achieve that. I have always hoped that golf would be a part of that because I've always loved the comradeship of a team sport, and I especially love golf. I think being a part of a team is incredibly important, wether it's a golf team, or a medical team. Great things can be accomplished with teamwork.
