My golf career started when I was about twelve years old. I started with a five iron, bucket of balls, and a horse pasture. And today I play on the girls varsity team playing a span of courses more than 150 miles from me. Throughout the four years in between, I have been apart of a Junior golf team. Which is generously provided by our clubhouse. During the time I participated I won state one year, came in second for two years, and sadly broke my habit when I missed state due to a family matter. When my freshman year started, I worked my way to the number one spot on varsity leading the team to a victory not only in a league tournament but also in regionals. Sadly state got the best of us and we broke our winning streak by placing fifth. My sophomore year went the same but Goodland golf team took second at state.
Now that we are up to date, I can inform you that I wish to attend college on a golf scholarship. In doing so, I plan to make golf so much more than a game, but an aspect to my life. Golf, to me, makes school endurable and getting good grades easier. As famously said by Mae West, "The score never interested me, only the game.” That being said, I believe my passion for the game of golf makes me stand out. As for being different, the first thing coming to mind is my ability to have a good time hitting golf balls into our horse tank for "chipping practice". I spend hours trying to perfect every thing I do; from writing school papers to attempting my personal best in high jump. I believe I am the person you want to recruit.
