Personal Statement

I started playing golf when I was 5 years old on a putting mat and hitting into a net in my backyard, and have been playing ever since. I attended Saturday morning kid camps with Golf Pro Jimmy Hendricks around the same age. Before starting high school, I played in Kelly Gibson Tournaments around the New Orleans area. Playing high school golf has given me the discipline to be a student athlete and the opportunity to be a member of a team. I have been a competitive player on the Varsity golf team since 8th grade. I qualified to compete in the Louisiana High School Association State Golf Tournament in 2021, 2022, and 2023. My team finished 7th in the State of Louisiana this season. This season I was chosen by my coach to be the team Captain, a position usually only given to seniors. I was awarded the team’s MVP award by my coaches. My goal is to play college golf while working towards a nursing degree.
