I am relatively new to the game of golf, having picked up a club at 14. I knew right away that I wanted to learn to play. At 17, I have been playing for just 3 years and loving the game more every time I play. It's been difficult starting so late in this sport, but I have not let myself get discouraged and my commitment to playing my game has finally surfaced as my scores are now improving consistently. I have an energetic, warm demeanor which lends itself well to the mental component of the game. I was recently awarded the 2016 Jacky Kelly Sportsmanship Award by the Ct. Junior PGA for my sportsmanship, leadership, good character, and respect for the game as viewed by fellow players, professionals and staffers. I would love to have the opportunity to play college golf, a sport in which I have such a true passion, that I would be highly disappointed if I could not continue. I know as I play this year into next season my game is only going to improve. I work extremely hard in school and at my game, as my parents have always taught me that nothing in life comes easy. It is only with hard work and determination that I can achieve my goals. I would like to study political science in college and aspire to be an bi-lingual attorney. I believe in my myself as a golfer and believe that there is a college program/coach that recognizes my increasing ability to golf. The way I am as person, and as a golfer, would serve as a great representation for any college program.
