Personal Statement

My name is Evelyn Kwiatkowski '25. It was the summer after my freshman year (July 2022) that I played my first competitive 18-hole tournament, with the West Michigan Junior Golf Tour (WMJGT). Since then, I have been the top golfer on my high school team and have qualified individually for the last two years and as a team during my senior season for the Michigan girls high school golf state tournament (2022 / 2023 / 2024). I was All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention as well as receiving Academic All-State recognition. I have been working hard, year-round, for the last couple of years to develop my swing and have been putting in effort on my short game. I played in about a dozen tournaments this summer with Meijer Callaway and WMJGT and plan to continue this work ethic into college as I am able to have a more concentrated focus on golf.

My whole life I have always loved playing sports and had a competitive drive. I played basketball, soccer, softball and tennis while growing up and tried many other sports. My love of golf did not come until I started playing my freshman year of high school. This overall love of sports has given me the desire to pursue a Sports Management degree in college. In addition to being a top golfer, I have been on Varsity as a singles tennis player since Freshman year (First Singles in Spring 2024). I also love singing and have participated yearly in HS choir, making the top audition only choir in 2023 and 2024 and have participated yearly in the HS fall musical (earning both supporting and lead roles). Even with all of this, I have maintained a strong GPA and have taken multiple AP classes, being recognized with an AP Scholar Award.

I desire to continue my love of golf at the right college with a dedicated and well supported girls’ golf program which will help me to grow my game even further. I am looking for a college with a positive sports culture balanced with solid academics.
