Claire Orcutt '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi,

My name is Claire Orcutt and I am currently a Junior in high school at Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, MN.  

Being an avid golfer and athlete, I aspire to play Women's Golf in college.  To me, golf is something more than just a sport. Throughout my childhood, I was involved in basketball, softball, soccer, track & field, and plenty of other athletic activities; however, golf is the only sport I grew a true passion for.  I have been playing the game since the age of 8, and have had a love for the game ever since.  My father, a Creighton University Men's Golf alumni, was the one who introduced me to the sport.  Throughout my childhood to the present, he has helped me grow as a golfer both mentally and physically, and I hope to continue his legacy of college golf.  

I feel that I would make a great candidate for a college golf team because I am competitive and hardworking, yet still maintain great sportsmanship. What makes me different from many other girls is my ability to keep my cool and maintain a positive attitude, even when I am having a bad day on the course.  I am also a very kind, welcoming person in general, and I work well with others.

Although I have great aspirations to play golf at the college level, my college academics take priority. I plan to study business in college, and I am preparing for college by taking several AP classes. I have had 4.0 GPA throughout high school thus far, and scored a 32 on the ACT this past February.  My goal is to maintain a high level of academic achievement during my senior year of high school as well.

I feel nothing but enthusiasm and optimism about what I can achieve in these upcoming years, both academically and athletically, and I hope you take the time to consider me as a future member of your school's golf team!
