Hello, my name is Melynda Post. I am currently a senior at Pope John XXIII Regional High School, and have been playing golf competitively since my sophomore year. During my junior year, I competed in both the NJAC and HWS tournaments, and I hope to compete in more during this upcoming season. I was also fortunate enough to receive the Most Improved Award this past season, and was ranked number three on our girls’ team.
After this year’s season, our golf team was in jeopardy of being cut from the school budget. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams were devastated, but I did not want the team to go down without a fight. I created a petition to hopefully change the department’s mind, and successfully gathered over one hundred signatures and thirty personal messages. So this season, we will be back on the course, and ready for another great year.
Ever since I first picked up a club, I knew golf was something I would do for the rest of my life. My goals are to hopefully play golf at the collegiate level, but first and foremost, find the right college match for me academically. I will go anywhere that is a challenge and a great fit for me, both for academics and athletics.
