Taylar Jaramillo '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taylar Jaramillo and I am a Senior at Belen High School located in New Mexico.  I am 5 feet 3 inches tall and weigh 105 pounds.  I have great club head speed and tempo which gives me good distance for my size. 

I have been playing competitive golf since I was 10 years old.  I consistently shot rounds in the low to mid 70's.  I have played high school golf since the 8th grade in the 4A classification. I placed 4th at state as an 8th grader and 9th grader. I placed 2nd as a sophmore.  My Junior year I was the District Champion and the Individual State Champion. I have been an All-State selection the 4 years I competed at the state championships.  As a member of the Sun Country Junior Tour I have been Player Of The Year 4 out of the last 5 years. I compete in the FCWT, Golfweek Tour and the AJGA.  I have been Captain of the golf team the past 2 years and again this year.  I recently played at the Junior America's Cup for team new Mexico in Reno, NV. 

My dream has been to play College Golf.  I am open to different kinds of schools and the size of the school does not matter to me.  I would like to contribute to a team immediately if it works out.  I am competive and would work hard to assist a coach and team to accomplish the team goals.  I am currently a 5.2 handicap and have been as low as 3.6.

I am interested in pursuing a degree in the medical field. I currently have a 3.7 grade point and rank in the top 10% of my class.  I recently took the ACT test and got a 22.  I will be taking the test again in October in hopes of getting a higher score.
