Hello, my name is Grace Strickland and I am a junior at Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio. I have always dreamed of playing golf in college, while pursuing a forensic science major. I hope to find a college that is a perfect fit for me where I can follow both of my dreams. I know if I want to achieve my goals I need to work hard every single day and take advantage of any opportunities that come my way. I do this by pushing myself out of my comfort zone and always putting forth my best effort. I finished the 2019/2020 school year with a 4.5 GPA and a cumulative GPA of 4.32. I challenge myself in the classroom by taking honors and AP classes and outside of class, I am a member of Student Council, JCOWA, and Eagle Ambassadors (a leadership group at my school which you are selected to be in).
In the past several months my game has seen major improvements, I have taken roughly 20 strokes off my game. I did this with the help of my swing coach Kevin Jones and practicing five or more days a week. I have raised the expectations I have for myself and I am determined to keep improving. This past season I was the Southwest Sectional Champion (76) and made 1st Team All-GCL, finishing second overall (77-83). I have played as my team's #1 golfer all three seasons as well as being a 3 time MVP, also this season I was named the varsity captain. I hope to continue my success throughout high school, and college if given the opportunity.
