Hi, my name is Faith and I would love to continue my golf career as a student athlete into college after high school. I am now a senior, and I have been playing golf since I was 12. I originally got into golf because a family friend, who was a college golfer, convinced my parents that it was going to be worth it. I decided to give it a try. From the start, there was something about this sport that I just loved. It's something individual that requires so much time and effort, but gifts such wonderful outcomes. I was a dancer for 9 years when I started playing golf. While I loved everything about ballet, I gave it up to further pursue golf and gear the rest of my time towards doing well in school. Golf is like ballet in that it's so technical and surprisingly physical, but rewards the hard workers. Not to say that the start to my golf career was smooth or easy, but throughout the years I have learned much more about myself and the game than I ever would've imagined. Golf has taught so many amazing qualities that I can use in my life outside of the course, everyday. This game has taught me the outcomes of dedication, as well as being lazy; how to push myself, how to listen to instruction, how to control my emotions, and so much more. Most importantly, golf has taught me to never give up. So, I will forever be grateful for this sport and the way it has challenged me, and continuing my career into college will be an exciting experience in which I will continue to work hard and have fun through.
