Personal Statement

My name is Madolyn Kost and I’m a Senior at Kent Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. I am a captain of the Kent golf team and have played varsity each year of high school. I played for Hoban my sophomore year and per OHSAA was only eligible for half of the fall season due to transferring.

My recent accomplishments:

- Won the "Optimist Junior Tour Qualifier" at Heatherwoode Golf Course in Springboro Ohio to qualify for the Optimist Tournament of Champions in Doral, Florida

  • - My low tournament score this year for high school was 66, and my low score for summer tournaments was 68.

  • - Placed 3rd at the Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship at Worthington Manor GC through PKBGT (even par)

  • - Placed 5th at the 11th PKBGT National Tournament of Champions at Forest Creek, North Carolina (+5 through 27 holes... last 9 got cancelled)

- Went to States as an individual after winning a three hole, three-person playoff

  • - Was the Northern Ohio PGA’s 2022 Player of the Year 16-19 age division

  • - I played in the NOPGA’s HAAS Cup in 2021 and 2022

Throughout the past few years, golf has been an important passion of mine. It has allowed me to sharpen skills such as perseverance, drive, competitiveness, and belief in myself.

Academically, I am in an engineering program and I have learned many things. It has been a positive experience and provides hands-on learning in a field that will benefit my career goals. I believe I will be a great addition to your team, with my accomplishments and competitiveness in golf, as well as my academics.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
