Sydnie Leavery- C...Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Sydnie and I am a part of the class of 2022. I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember, and first started to play in more competitive events when I was about 11. I love golf because it allows me to be competitive with myself, and my own scores push me to do better. I am interested in playing golf in college, as I love being on a team. I would love a team where we are competitive with each other, but also act as a support system. My favorite part of golf to practice is short game, as there are so many different ways you can go about doing so and I understand the great importance of it, especially in women's college golf. Through my hard work during this off season, I hope to decrease my average and become an even better player. I always strive to be positive and do my best!

- In our District tournament, I shot 84 and had the second best score on my team. Unfortunately, my team fell just 2 strokes short of continuing onto States. The course played difficult, and my score was within the top 20.

- In our sectional tournament, I shot an 82, helping my team to take a second place finish. I struggled on the front nine, but turned it around on the back 9, shooting a 39, even though this side tends to be more difficult. My score of 82 helped me to finish in the top 10.
