Taylor Pitts '13 Recruiting Profile

Hi. My name is Taylor Pitts. I am 16 years old, 120 pounds, and 5'8". I have been golfing since I was about seven and have come to realize that playing golf during college is one of my biggest desires. My Freshman and Sophomore years I attended Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School and played golf on the Girl's Varsity Team. My Freshman year our team ended up going to States and winning! For my Sophomore year, we also went to States, but unfortunately came in 5th place. Then again, that is a lesson for all those who play sports and in life in general. You can try and try - but at times you win some, and at times you lose some. That's alright, you never back down, and instead you get back up on your feet and continue to strive even harder. Then, my Junior year I transferred to Madison High School where they do not have a Girl's golf team. That said I had the opportunity to try out for the Boy's golf team. And, of course I am going to take every opportunity I am offered. I ended up being our number one player on the Boy's Junior Varsity Team; which is still very difficult because I was now expected to play from the Boy's tees. The scores that are uploaded onto this site are the scores that I have most recently shot on the Boy's Junior Varsity Team at Madison High School. Next year, my senior year, the school is considering creating a Girl's golf team so that it will be fair for all girls at Madison High School who are interested in golf but have never had the chance to actually compete. This way, I would also have the opportunity to shoot scores from the women's tees instead of the men's tees which would give me an actual comparison to other girl's scores. The size of the school is not the most important item regarding a college selection, it's what the college has to offer. If I had my choice, a medium-sized college would be preferable; however, I am open to schools that offer different courses in my interest. I look forward to majoring in psychology with a possible minor in dance. Just like many other families today who are in need of financial, my family is also interested in tuition assistance.
