I can best describe myself as an athlete that loves to play golf. I am seeking a golf program that will allow me to compete, grow my game and eventually play for a national championship. I have set high goals for myself and if you get to know me, you will soon realize that when I have a goal, I am not afraid to work hard to achieve it.
I am likely not a typical recruit. I didn’t grow up playing golf but rather grew up playing travel softball. In 2015 I made the decision to discontinue playing travel softball in order to fully commit my time to pursue the game of golf. Although I only began playing golf during the summer of 2015, I have worked very hard on all aspects of my game and I am now competing with some of the top golfers in the Midwest. In an effort to take my game to the highest level, I have competed in many AJGA, GolfWeek, Hudson Junior Invitational, SOPGA tournaments to name a few. As a result, I have been able to accomplish in a short time period to what many take years to achieve. My coaches often tell me that “they have never seen any student make such progress in such a short period!”
I have a passion to play the sport along with strong work-ethic. I realize that hard work is necessary to achieve my goals. I have been successful and have learned to balance my priorities including academics and sports. I am a good student and I am committed to succeed in the challenges that I decide to pursue!
My golf strengths include a love for competition and a desire for success. There is no doubt that my primary strength is off the tee as I have a solid long game with a driver club-head speed that averages 95-100 mph and a distance off the tee totalling 265 + yards. (I recently competed in a GolfWeek tournament where I actually drove the #12 green (Par4)). Since my strength is off the tee, I have worked very hard developing my short game. My GIR has improved a lot since this past spring and has been a major factor in lowering my scores. This is due to my wedge game which includes three distinct yardages for each of my four wedges. Additionally, I work every day on putting with a goal to stay under 30 putts per round.
