Winning Sectionals as a team my Junior year has been the highlight of my career thus far. However, just falling short of the State Tournament all three years has definitely been a setback. I believe that is what’s made me grow as an athlete. Being so close to something, but not being able to reach it. It is moments like those that make you question your ability, but it also makes you work harder for what you want. Each year I went back on the course with a different look at the game. What do I need to do to drop my score? I strengthened the things I was bad at and worked on them until I improved, this resulting in cutting my score down. Determination is a crucial detail for every sport but I think especially for golf. It’s a mental sport and a player must be determined to prosper to become a better player. I think my determination to become a better athlete is what will make me a great collegiate golfer.
